Grace Notes – 9/1/2017

“Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”(Ps. 55:22)
I pray you see the above Scriptural truth as the amazing gift it is. Our Lord loves us so much that He is ready to take from us our burdens as we give them to Him, and HE WILL sustain us! So whether it is some trial, health crisis, hardship or loss you are dealing with; or whether it is what you see around you in the ungodly hate or selfishness of our day, or the suffering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey or whatever…hear this: He will sustain you!

Marla Adrian and her mother, Ann Maddox – upon the death of Marla’s dad, Van. We join them in a prayer of thanksgiving for the life he was blessed with and now his eternal life with Christ. We also pray for comfort and peace in his death coming unexpectedly after a fall.
Orville Weber – Hospitalized at UF Shands due to an infection and having undergone the insertion of a stint in the kidney.
Linda Griffin – Continues to slowly recover from a repair to her heart value.
Laurie Ullery – Recovering in the hospital after undergoing a successful medical procedure.
Jan Poch – Gives thanks for a successful medical procedure and having returned home the same day with a good report.
Martha Rockey – This week after two days of testing at Mayo Clinic, Martha was placed on medical leave. The Doctors note that having experienced a “brain trauma” i.e. Surgery and Radiation, it is common to have some issues that necessitate therapy. She is in the process of being set up for coordinated care for OT, PT and Speech therapies. Prayers for healing and peace are appreciated.
Liz Johnson – Who will undergo a medical procedure next week on her kidney.
Fall & Olivia Kuhn – Two of our youth who were rear-ended in a car accident while stopped. They are sore but thankfully the accident wasn’t more serious.
Jeff & Joann Robinson – Early in August, Joann was in a car accident with a motorcyclist who ran a stop sign, was driving with no endorsement or helmet. Sadly, he died. Please pray for the family of Nathan Davis. And keep Jeff & Joann in prayer for peace.
HURRICANE HARVEY – Please continue to pray for those suffering from the effects of Harvey. This Sunday we will have a DOOR OFFERING and the funds collected will be sent to the Texas District of the LCMS. Also, further information will be provided for other ways to support the recovery efforts including you can have your donations matched as a Thrivent member by giving online.
We will continue to monitor the ways we can respond including sending interested teams to assist.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING – The Board of Directors has called a Congregational Meeting for Sunday Sept 10 at 9:30. This is to update you on the ECC. Great progress has been made in so many areas. The final Bids are being tabulated. There are a few items that are pushing the budget i.e. traffic impact fee, fire sprinklers in the attic, etc. The ECC Board and the BOD are working to finalize and then bring this information to the Voters at the meeting. Please join us. Thank you again to all who have so faithfully prayed, and supported this mission.
